Traditional HVAC Doesn't Work!
When it comes to fulfilling the stringent demands of 21st century housing, contemporary heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems just don’t cut it. Rather than evolve to suit today’s conditions, HVAC systems have been developed in response to conditions that existed at various times in the past.
For decades, utility designers have known of HVAC shortcomings, but combining comfort, quality and efficiency has seemed an elusive goal for most. Additionally, present problems stem from continuing along an evolutionary design path that took a wrong turn from the beginning.
Unsolved problems in contemporary HVAC require us to stop and take a fresh look—and use history as a design lesson. It’s time to abandon assumptions that are no longer relevant and change practices that fail to achieve optimum performance.
